Utica Eisenhower’s girls basketball team plays in the MHSAA Division 1 state semifinals for the first time since 1982. The Eagles face Muskegon at noon — a matchup of two 24-2 programs with a trip to Saturday’s state championship game on the line. If you are an Eisenhower parent, alumni, or Macomb County fan this is the one. Make the drive to East Lansing. You will not regret it.

MHSAA Girls Basketball State Finals — D1 Championship

If Eisenhower wins Friday, they play for the D1 state championship on Saturday. Championship games run throughout the day across all four divisions. Even if you are not an Eisenhower fan, the Breslin Center on championship Saturday is one of the best atmospheres in Michigan high school sports. All four division finals are played in a single day — it is a full day of elite high school basketball.

Kensington Metropark hosts Maple’s Sweet Story this weekend — a free self-paced outdoor walk through the Farm’s greenspace where you can learn how to pick the right maple tree, how trees are tapped, and how sap becomes maple syrup. An Anishinaabe storyteller shares Native American legends and techniques. The evaporator is running so you can actually see and smell the process in action. Real maple products are for sale and pancake breakfasts are available at the Farm Grille. This is a perfect low-cost family activity and one of the best things Oakland County does every spring.

MHSAA Girls Basketball State Finals — All Four Divisions at Breslin
Saturday’s full Breslin schedule runs all day across D1, D2, D3, and D4. If you go to see Eisenhower and they win Friday, you are already there for the D1 final. But even the other division finals are worth watching — D2 has Goodrich vs. South Christian (both 27-0), D3 has Lumen Christi vs. Brandywine, and D4 has Portland St. Patrick vs. Onekama. It is a full day of Michigan high school basketball at its absolute best.
